Housewarming Gift Ideas for a Griha Pravesh in Vadodara

A griha pravesh is usually met with sweets, coconuts and the traditional courtesies - all lovely, and all forgotten within the week. If you would rather leave behind something that actually stays in the new home, a personalised piece does that far better than another box of mithai.

Something they will see every day. A personalised acrylic wall clock is a genuinely functioning clock with their photo printed on the face - a gift that earns its place on a wall instead of getting stored away.

Something with warmth for a new home. The wooden engraving frame renders a photo in a warm, rustic sketch style on natural wood - a nice contrast to the glossier decor most new homes are still filling in, and priced accessibly at ₹999.

Something with colour and tradition. Lippan art is a natural fit for a new home's puja corner or entryway - the Kamdhenu-inspired cow wall hanging set is devotional and well suited to a fresh start, while the compact peacock Lippan piece is a more affordable way to bring the craft into a smaller space.

Something for their new home office corner. If the home includes a work-from-home setup, a personalised wooden card holder is a small, practical addition to a new desk.

One thing worth knowing if you have not bought Lippan art before: every piece is handmade, so small natural variations in the clay and mirror work are part of the craft, not a flaw - and it is exactly that handmade quality that makes it feel like a real gift rather than something mass-produced.
